Company Profile

Thermalec Products Ltd., first came to life at the end of 1966 operating from a double ended mobile home in the garden of the founder Gerry Williams, who went on to become one of the best known and loved characters of the Swimming Pool industry. He and his then partner Frank Udy set up the company in Hertfordshire and very soon expanded into a small factory in Watford. Two years later they built their own factory and it was not long before they had to add an extension to that.

Following the Suez Crisis and escalating oil prices in the mid 1970's, a drop in sales engineered a rethink of the company. The factory was sold, Frank moved on to pastures new and Gerry Williams brought the business of Thermalec to the West Country in 1978 and continued to go from strength to strength. 

In the early 1980's we started exporting to the Middle East, and today this now accounts for nearly 50% of our business.

During the summer of 1999 Thermalec became part of the Meddings Group of Companies, due to Gerry's impending retirement. The majority of staff transferred to the new site here at Ivybridge in Devon, thus giving continuity of standards and service that Thermalec are known for.
