How does a heat pump work?

A heat pump is designed based upon refrigeration technology; this means it can absorb energy from the outside air in the form of heat and moisture. By passing this energy through a compressor into a heat exchanger, it enables the energy to be passed through to the pool or spa water, hence heating your water.

Thermalec's heat pump design gives COP (Coefficient of Performance) efficiency between 5.2 - 6.0. With an air temp of 26 Degrees this heat pump has COP of 6.5, at 15 degrees it has a COP rating of 4.5, giving this heat pump a higher efficiency rating than other brands.

The heater has a patented design and has a high resistance to corrosion from chlorinated water due to the use of a titanium heat exchanger.

Its unique design monitors the flow of water through the heat pump and senses low pressure

Unique Water Flow Design
The titanium tank is designed with the inlet at the bottom of the heat pump and the outlet at the top; because hot water is lighter it will go up the tank faster giving a higher efficiency by design. Most other designs are opposite to this giving lower efficiency

Compressor Capacity
The temperature of the capacitor is set at 130 degrees for greater stability and more reliable performance, this ids from our tropical technology R&D ( most capacitors are set at 70 degrees)
